Ridge Road Schools See Familiar Faces in New Roles

Students and Teachers will see a few changes this August as they return to the classroom. While many people will recognize these familiar faces, they will be taking on new roles. Ms. Leah Clark will be taking on the Principal position at Ridge Road Primary School and Mrs. Christine McPherson will become the Principal of Ridge Road Elementary School.

Ms. Leah Clark has been with the Board of Education for 21 years. Ms. Clark has served as the Ridge Road Elementary School Principal for 9 years. Prior to that she was the Assistant Principal at T.J. Elder Middle School. She says she is “excited about her new opportunity at the Primary school. It is an honor to be the principal of children of former students. We are all a big family.”

Mrs. McPherson has been employed with the Washington County Board of Education for 23 years. She has served as an Assistant Principal for the last 18 years. Excited about becoming a principal and having an even bigger impact on student achievement; Mrs. McPherson believes that a dream delayed is not a dream denied. She is looking forward to continuing her efforts with helping the students at Ridge Road Elementary to excel in the academics, the arts, and athletics.
