IGAL Academy Welcomes Parents
Washington County School District recently held an Open House for parents of current students at the IGAL Academy. The IGAL (Innovative, Gifted, Accelerated, Learning) Academy will host students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Led by Director Pam Mathis, students will rotate through the building every 4 weeks and experience curriculums related to Hydroponics, Coding, Robotics, and Forensics.
Currently, there is a small group of students piloting the curriculum that will be introduced to a larger group next school year. Next year, Washington County School District plans to rotate over 600 elementary school students through the building.
The Academy will also provide high school students, enrolled in the Culinary Arts Pathway, a state-of-the-art kitchen and prep area. This building will also provide a space for students to host pop-up concerts, theatre productions and summer programming. A public open house is planned for some time this Spring.
